2. Overview
This website does not set cookies itself and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking. To see how many people visit the site, we use the cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics (see section 8). Fonts and the logo are served from our own server. The beat store and the audio previews are provided by BeatStars and are loaded directly when you open the page (see sections 4 and 7).
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the site, the hosting provider automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, date and time of the request, the requested page, browser type and operating system (server log files). This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and functional website). We have concluded a data processing agreement with Cloudflare (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses also apply. Details: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
4. Beat store (BeatStars)
Our beat store is provided by BeatStars, Inc. (USA) via an embedded player ("Blaze Player"). The store is loaded automatically when you open the page. A connection to BeatStars is established, and data such as your IP address and browser information is transferred to BeatStars; BeatStars may also set cookies or similar technologies. If you buy a beat, the purchase is processed by BeatStars, and its privacy policy applies: beatstars.com/privacy. Data may be transferred to the USA. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in presenting and selling our beats directly on this website. You can object to this processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR); alternatively, you can visit our store directly on beatstars.com/dbrecords or contact us by email.
5. Links to BeatStars and social networks
Links to BeatStars, YouTube, Instagram and other services are normal links. No data is transferred to these services until you click a link.
6. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual inquiries) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We delete the data when it is no longer required, unless statutory retention periods apply.
7. Audio player
The music player on this site automatically plays preview streams of our beats. These audio files and the cover images are loaded from BeatStars servers (content.beatstars.com, cdn5.beatstars.com), so your IP address is transferred to BeatStars when they load. To show the visualizer, the audio is analysed locally in your browser; no analysis data is sent to us or to third parties. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
8. Web analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
To understand how our website is used (e.g. number of visits, pages viewed, referring websites, country, browser and device type, loading times), we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service of Cloudflare, Inc. (see section 3). Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not store data in your browser and does not create individual user profiles or track you across websites. Your IP address is used only to deliver the measurement and is not stored for analytics purposes; we only see aggregated statistics. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in measuring reach and improving our website). You can object to this processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR), e.g. by using a content blocker. Details: cloudflare.com/web-analytics.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) and erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
- withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR),
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI).
